It's one of the two iconic choices, right alongside onyx. Mother-of-pearl suits any season and is easy to style with both casual and feminine looks. I have a darker skin tone, but when I wear mother-of-pearl, it gives my skin this lovely, brightened glow. Haha. The downside is that it's susceptible to scratches and moisture, so I don't wear it every single day. But I'm usually pretty careful with my accessories, so I haven't noticed any significant scratches. I guess it depends on the person.
