Cartier Baignoire Small Strap (feat. a comparison with the Reverso)

Since I already have two steel watches (a Rolex Datejust pink ten-point and a Tank Must with a leather strap), I've been dreaming of owning a gold watch. I actually had two on my wishlist: a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso and a Cartier Baignoire. Truthfully, the Baignoire was originally my top pick, and it's a bit more affordable, so I was leaning towards it. The Reverso felt a little too bulky for me. My husband thought the Jaeger had a real 'old money' vibe and encouraged me to get it, but I'm not exactly rolling in dough, haha. It was pretty and the reversible feature was cool, but the engraving (KRW 500,000+) and the strap (KRW 600,000+) kind of killed the vibe for me, lol. Honestly, the design was a bit more rugged than I expected. To the average person who doesn't know watches, it might not be the 'Wow, that's gorgeous!' type (just my opinion). Even though it was a bit pricier, a small promotion narrowed the gap between it and the Baignoire Small. Oh, FYI, Jaeger is raising prices next Monday. Why did the Baignoire Small strap have to change to black, though? Ugh. I spent ages agonizing over both… (okay, maybe ten minutes, haha) and ultimately decided on the Baignoire. The pictures don't do it justice. I would've loved it even more with a taupe leather strap, but since it comes with a black one, I'll probably end up changing it. The Small was definitely the right choice over the Mini. It's absolutely gorgeous. I can't stop staring at it, even after getting home. I might just starve and admire my watch for a while to lose some weight, haha. And so, another anniversary goes by. My husband fixes my everyday little annoyances with one big gift every year (though the excitement never lasts long). But now that I'm here to show it off, it seems like there might be some quality issues going around. That's a bummer… Still, it's so beautiful. Truly stunning.
