Pleats Please Seekers Skirt, black, size 2

I bought the Seeker skirt in black, size 2, this July, and honestly, I'm a little disappointed. It doesn't seem like a true black, and compared to the basic black version, it lacks shine and has this slightly faded, rough texture. (Seeker on the left, basic on the right). Is this a common issue with the black color this season, or is it just the Seeker skirt in general? I didn't notice this with my Seeker cool gray skirt from January, probably because it's a color. If the black is just off this season, I might skip it and wait for the next one. I'm not sure, so I'd really appreciate any insights from those in the know!
