I used to be all about bags, but lately I've been loving jewelry that I can wear casually, no matter the occasion. Van Cleef & Arpels was my first luxury jewelry brand, so it holds a special place in my heart. I was torn between mother-of-pearl and onyx, but I went with onyx because I wanted something that would really pop! Onyx really stands out, even from a distance. It's easy to take care of, you just have to watch out for fingerprints. I try not to touch it too much and wipe it down often. I was worried that the black color might look too hot or stuffy since I wear bracelets a lot in the summer. But I wear a lot of light-colored clothes in the summer, so the bracelet doesn't make me look too hot, I think! Hehe. For formal occasions, I usually wear black, so it's a bit of an all-black look, but I'm still happy with how clean and simple it is! Onyx is so versatile, it goes with both casual and formal outfits. The only downside is that it's so common! I think it's the most common Van Cleef piece. I see it a lot on the subway... (which means there are a lot of fakes too, sadly). The real thing has a sparkle that's just different!
